The rules

Everything here is for sale, and we would rather say so first.

This page is written to be read, not to be survived. If anything below surprises you after you have paid, we wrote it badly.

Money decides everything, and nothing else decides anything.

Each category on decidedbymoney is a public board. Products are listed on it in order of lifetime spend. Whoever has paid the most is listed as the #1. There is no review process, no scoring model, no shortlist, no editorial opinion and no algorithm. We do not test the products. We do not use the products. We do not know whether the products work.

$1 gets you onto a board. That is the floor, not a prize: paying it lists you permanently at whatever rank your total currently earns. Taking the #1 spot costs the current leader’s total plus at least $1. Paying again adds to your total instead of replacing it, so climbing back costs only the gap.

Being outspent moves you down a row. It does not remove you, and it does not refund you. The money is spent either way, so the listing you bought stays bought, with the total printed next to your name.

No refunds. Ever. This is the whole point.

Being passed is not a fault, a failure or a service problem. It is the product working exactly as described. We will not refund you because somebody spent more, because you changed your mind, because the hold was shorter than you hoped, or because the clicks were fewer than you wanted.

There is exactly one automatic exception:

  1. Your proposed category is rejected in moderation. If you pay $1 to create a category and we do not approve it, the full $1 is refunded automatically. Nothing goes live, so nothing is owed. Free proposals have nothing to refund.

If a payment cannot be recorded as a listing at all (a missing category, a blocked domain, a malformed URL), we refund that payment in full as well. Landing below #1 is not that case. Any amount at or above $1 buys a position.

Outside those cases, payments are final.

Every listing is a paid advertisement.

Nothing on this site is an endorsement, a recommendation, a review or a ranking in any meaningful sense of the word. A product appears at #1 because its owner paid for that position and no other reason. Treat every listing here the way you would treat a billboard, because that is what it is.

Outbound links to listed products are dofollow. They pass through our click tracker so the click counts on each board are real numbers rather than claims. That is the backlink you bought: a link from this site to yours.

Some names on a board have not paid. They are labelled.

A board with one product on it tells you nothing about the category, so on boards that have no paying customers yet we list a few well known products ourselves. These are marked unpaid, they sit below a line that says nobody beneath it has paid, and they carry no position number and no dollar figure, because they have neither.

They are never ranked, never counted in any total, never named the #1 anything, and never appear on the money page, the answers page or the Hall of Kings. Being listed this way is not an endorsement of them and implies no relationship with them: we put them there, they did not. The first product to pay a single dollar on such a board ranks above all of them immediately, because money outranks the absence of money by definition.

If you own one of these products and would rather not be listed, tell us and it comes off. No argument and no conditions.

We can remove any listing at any time.

We reserve the right to remove any listing or category, with or without warning, for any reason we consider good enough. In practice that means illegal products, adult content, gambling and crypto casinos, anything impersonating a company it does not represent, and anything that makes the site a worse place to be.

Removal under this rule does not come with a refund.

New categories are approved by a human, slowly.

Anyone can propose a category for free. Nothing is published straight away: a person reads every proposed name before it reaches the board, checking that it describes a product category and not a company, a person or a URL. An approved free proposal goes live vacant at $1, with nobody on it. Proposing a category does not reserve it, and the person who proposed it gets no head start beyond knowing it exists.

Paying $1 buys the same moderation queue plus the throne itself: if we approve it, it goes live with your product already on it, priced at what you paid. If we reject it, you are refunded in full, automatically, and nothing is published.

Trademark holders get their takedown. You do not get your money.

If a trademark holder tells us a listing misuses their mark, we remove the listing. We are not a court and we will not adjudicate the dispute. We take it down and let the two of you sort it out.

A takedown does not produce a refund. If you spend money advertising a product using a name you do not have the right to use, that is a cost you chose.

A chargeback forfeits the listing.

If you open a dispute or chargeback against a payment, the listing is removed immediately and the domain you listed is blocked from buying anything on this site again. If that listing held first place, the next-highest total takes it.

Payments are handled by our merchant of record, who resolves disputes on our behalf. The outcome of a dispute does not return the listing to you either way.

Our own products play by the same rules.

Some listings on this board are ours. They are marked as house listings, they paid the same prices, and they can be passed by anyone willing to spend more, exactly like every other product. We do not give ourselves discounts, protected categories or immunity from being outspent.

Your email is for one thing.

We collect an email address at checkout and it is never displayed on the site. We use it to send you a receipt and to tell you when somebody has passed you, which is the only notification this site sends. We do not sell it and we do not run a newsletter.

Every ranking on this site was purchased. That is the entire idea.
